Sahliyeh reflects the name of our founder, Hanna Sahliyeh (pronounced SAH-LEE-YUH) and the principles he built the company on are reflected in our mark. While the industry has evolved, those values remain constant. Today, they show up in disciplined planning, strategic decision-making, and a commitment to protecting both the experience and the people behind it.

An American Success Story
Sahliyeh’s Start
Hanna Sahliyeh was born into a Palestinian family within the Christian quarter of Jerusalem. After the First Arab-Israeli War, Hanna and his family moved to the nearby Christian village of Taybeh. Hanna’s father lost his position with the British Army as they were withdrawing from Palestine. This left him without a way to support his growing family. Being the eldest son, it fell on Hanna to help financially.
After graduating from High School, Hanna moved to London to begin working for his uncle in the travel industry, where he spent the next twenty years growing and expanding his uncle’s travel business within Europe and the Middle East. After London, Hanna lived in Istanbul, Rome, New York, and Dallas.
Once established in Dallas, Hanna ventured out on his own. He had a vision and a strong conviction that a market existed to help corporations in offering their internal and outside sales forces incentive travel rewards. Hanna developed relationships with Dallas-based corporations, and he was entrusted with the turnkey handling of their incentives, conventions, and meetings. Sahliyeh International Tours (today simply “Sahliyeh”) was born in 1977. That conviction — that leaders deserve to be fully present with the people who matter most — still drives how Sahliyeh operates today.

Timeline
Our History
1977
Sahliyeh International Tours (SIT), located in Dallas, TX, became incorporated in March. The founder, Hanna Sahliyeh, came from a long and successful tenure in sales and management within his uncle’s travel company, an international company which specialized in trips to the Holyland.
1986
SIT moved to Las Colinas, TX. This move allowed a closer commute to DFW International Airport, as well as affording a more central location for the expanding number of employees living within the DFW Metroplex.
